More on: What is and What Should Never Be
I meant to mention both these thoughts in this week’s Supernatural Review but I was falling asleep at my keyboard.
Dean mentioned that:
It was just a wish. I wished for mom to live…
Everything Sam and Dean are can be traced back to one single event.
November 2nd 1983.
The night Mary Winchester died.
I could ramble on forever about. ‘saving people hunting things, the family business’
Mary Winchester didn’t just die, she was murdered, killed in a horrific way by supernatural means and because of that her children would be forever afraid of the dark. Of what’s out there because they know.
They have the knowledge. Knowledge of the Supernatural.
They know what’s out there.
They can never be innocent.
And I know I’ve rambled on before about how important Sam’s innocence is to Dean. How hard Dean has tried to foster that innocence in Sam, to shield Sam from the killing and violence as much as possible. Even before Dean knew about Sam’s destiny, before John told Dean the secret. Dean has been the one to kill so Sam doesn’t have to.
